Eddie Dyja
I have been working as a freelance editor/writer since 2006. My specialist subject is British film and television having worked at the British Film Institute for over 10 years from 1995 during which time I was the editor of the BFI Film and Television Handbook.
In 2010 my book Studying British Cinema: The 1990s was published by Auteur.
I have contributed to several online educational resources most notably updating, researching and writing material for children’s film catalogue called Now Showing 3 writing a history of non-fiction and documentary films the Real Shorts project, writing contextualisations of TV programmes for BFI InView and writing film and TV biographies for screenonline.
My journalism career included working as an Assistant Editor on a trade journal called Direct Marketing World and taking the helm as Editor of a trade paper called World List News. I have also had over 20 years experience in editorial and publications work working for children's charity NCH Action For Children and the old people's charity Age Concern England. During this period I have worked on every type of publication imaginable from tickets to annual reports.
During my spare time I'm a guitarist and songwriter in an indie/pop band called Edgy. I volunteer at the Orpheus Centre, Godstone where I have taken part in classes in Experimental Music and Art. I also took part in Song Week 2010. I also a belong to my local Fairtrade Group in Lingfield, Surrey, UK where I live.
